Before and After School Art Classes

After school art classes are a young artist’s dream conveniently taught at your students school following dismissal:). During our 8-10 weeks of creating we’ll be covering a breadth of art forms and foundations, such as but not limited to: Painting, drawing, sculpture, fibers, ceramics, mixed media, design, comics, manga, and Printmaking. Each class is 60-min and every session focuses on a selection of traditional fine art skills using various media types thus resulting in endless different projects. This allows students to enjoy taking session after session for years and never having to worry about doing the exact same project twice. All supplies are provided including 2 ceramic firings: bisque and glaze. Students will be given a portfolio at the beginning of the session. With this they will learn to respect and store their masterpieces just like professional artists. Students will take home their full portfolio the last day of class along with any 3D creations.

After School Art Wednesdays 2:30-3:30

Located in PTA Portable.

10 weeks: 1/7, 1/14, 1/21, 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, 2/25, 3/4, 3/11, and 3/18

This class is a young artist’s dream:). We’ll be covering a breadth of art forms and foundations, such as but not limited to: Painting, drawing, sculpture, fibers, ceramics, mixed media, design, comics, manga, and Printmaking. Each session focuses on different skills within the media type thus resulting in different projects all year long. This allows students to enjoy taking art every session (for years and years if they chose) and never having to worry about doing the same project twice. All supplies are provided including 2 clay firings: bisque and glaze. Students will be given a portfolio at the beginning of the session. With this they will learn to respect and store their masterpieces just like real artists. Students will take home their full portfolio the last day of class.

Student pick up time is 3:30pm. When filling out your students enrollment form please how you would like to pick up your student:

1. Supervised Release: you give permission for your student to leave class with the teacher or volunteer in a group and wait with the group until you arrive to pick them up. You will be waiting to pick them up out front of the school directly following the end of class. If you run late your student will wait with Mrs. Ashley or the volunteer until you arrive. Your student understands to let Mrs. Ashley or the volunteer know they see you before they get into the car and leave. If you feel that your student is not capable of waiting with a group outside the school safely and struggle with staying where they are told then I advise you give them time to achieve that skill before signing them up for after school classes. This release is the same as the typical release on a normal school day.

2. Unsupervised release: I give permission for my student to leave after class unsupervised to head home on their own with out any supervision.

The volunteer will not knowingly leave the school if they see a student has not been picked up. Students that tend to not follow directions, hide, or wanders off when in a group setting are encouraged to wait for their self management skills to develop further before taking after school classes.

Please have your artists wear appropriate clothing on the day of classes, not their Sunday bests ;).

No refunds. No reschedules for missed classes. I do my best to reschedule unexpected school closures WHEN POSSIBLE, such as a snow day.

Requirements:

I ask all students do there best to exemplify respect and personal behavior management. If your young artists is working on this, has difficulty sitting for 60-mins or working on building their listening skills this may not be the right time for them to take group classes.

Prior to leaving class I require young students to be physically signed out on the roll sheet. If you wish to forgo signing out your student and prefer I release them to leave on their own then please select to “release without signature” when filling out their information sheet. I will not leave knowing a student has not been picked up, with or without a sign out.

Please always be sure your artist wares appropriate clothing to art class, something that is ok potentially getting stained. If this is a concern I suggest keeping a designated “art shirt” in the car they can put on before class.

POLICIES:

*If you choose to take classes or work with me in any way you are automatically agreeing to these policies.

Please do your best arrive on time and/or be ready to begin at the start time of the class. Please send me a text if you are running late.

Students are to respect the teacher, materials, others, and most of all themselvs. A positive attitude is recommended.

Be patient, learning takes time and every student will progress at their own appropriate speed. Remember, it takes 10,000 hours to become a master at one skill.

I have the right to refuse service to anyone. Please know that I do not accept everyone as a student. Our personalities will need to be compatible and we must have a similar understanding of goals and expectations. Focus is a big factor for acceptance. If the student has trouble maintaining focus for 30- 60 mins, then perhaps, the time may not be right for them. Learning takes courage and drive.

If they’re are any physical or emotional issues, such as self-confidence, depression, ADD, OCD, or neurodiversity, that may hinder you or your student in realizing art goals please share them with me if you feel comfortable, it helps me teach each individual the best way they learn. Please also let me know if you or your student have any dangerous allergies so I can be sure to keep everyone safe.

Please note that on occasion art can make religious connections, and contain nudity. Please understand these topics are treated with respect and maturity in the fine art community and you/ your student will be asked to do the same.

If you choose to work with me you agree to all policies stated here, including making payments when required. You and or your student release Ashley Hale from any liability, including and not limited to, any pre or pro-existing conditions that may hinder or prevent you (or your child’s) physical or emotional, artistic abilities. Additionally, you and your student release Ashley Hale from any responsibility of physical or emotional injury or any damage of property that may occur.

All sales are final. If you let me know you need to cancel early enough I may be able to issue a refund of up to 80%, but this decision is at my discretion. Please email me at ashleyhaleart@gmail.com to discuss your options.
